Do You know if John ever did a bass solo during Queen live shows?
I only know about the famous one on "Liar" and another little one from "Bring back that Leroy Brown"
I'm sure he could play great bass solos, do you know why Queen never let him to do it?

I guess either he didn`t want to or they considered it wouldn`t be so well appreciated. It`s unfair but we (guitar fans) are a way way way bigger group than bass fans, numerically.

Yes, I know guitar fans are numerically a bigger group than bass fans but I asked that cause I know Roger did drum solos too so it looks strange to me only John didn't solos ;-)

Yes but the Roger thing can be for different causes: they could have thought timpani were impressive, or they supposed (or knew) many female fans would like to see Roger. I think Queen is one of the first bands (besides Beatles) that "collected" many female fans for the physical attributes of one or more of their members. In Japan it worked a lot.

Moreover John was very shy so he probably would be very nervous in a solo

On Live Killers, there is a slight bass solo in the opening 'we will rock you,' I wouldnt say he was shy to do a solo, he had the skill, it's just that there was never really the right time to do one in any of the songs, if you get what i mean...
