A question for Denes, please:
When searching for stuff for my diploma projct, I found in your text about Rhythm and Syncopations (though, from 2001) this : "Save Me (4/4): accents create 7/8 > 4/4 > 9/8 measures. Try to pick up 4/4 beats "downbeaten" by the word "LOVED" (from "how I loved you") count from 1 to 4, then switch to eighths and count from 1 to 9, and see if it works!"
I somehow cannot do it... Can you somehow specificate it? No need to hurry...

You can try it step by step:
1 exercise: try to count along the straight 4/4 beats!r
1b. if you fail you can try by playing the track slowed down.
2. you can try to switch to 8/8 and count along that section.
3. try to count along 4/4 starting from the word "LOVED". for only one mesaure it may result in a natural feel.
4. Try to count along 8/8 from "...loved" then after the first eight, count up to nine, then again eight and continue in 8/8.
