Daniel: Allman Brothers Band27 Dec 2005 02:36
Has anyone ever listen or analysed something of this band  . I've been listen to it recently and i've found it incredibly complex (listen to Mountain Jam, Hot'lanta or In memory of Elizabeth Reed) . Lots of harmonies and impressive changes, and they have ona of the best guitarists in history Duane Allman, impressive slide guitar work.  Despite of Duanes early dead , they have had many other greats such as Dickey Betts and actually Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks.   It's a band as tight as it can be even thinking in all the changes and the song forms.   It's not so popular but it would be cool to see any reference of them here.

I encourage you to make and publish song analyses for Allman Brothers here.
Give it a try. Formal analysis is not very complicated. Harmonic analysis is ususally simple too, sometimes not. "Its so easy if you know the rules".
There are many bands and songs worthy for analysis, Allman Brothers is one of them.
